Built for Indian books, honestly
The classifier knows Indian vendors by name: state discoms and Tata Power for electricity, IOCL, BPCL and HPCL for fuel, IndiGo and Air India for travel, Blue Dart and Delhivery for couriers, IGL and Mahanagar Gas for gas. Electricity uses the CEA CO2 Baseline Database v21.0 national factor for FY 2024-25.
What we do not do: invent precision. CEA publishes one factor for India's unified grid and no state split, so your report uses the national factor and says so. Every rupee conversion is shown row by row. Spend-based estimates carry a stated ±25-40% uncertainty band, appropriate for questionnaires and hotspot analysis, not regulatory filings.

Can you calculate carbon emissions from Tally data?
Yes. Export your Day Book or ledger from Tally as Excel and upload the .xlsx directly. The engine finds the header row under Tally's title rows, reads Particulars and Debit columns, treats amounts as INR, classifies Indian vendors (discoms, fuel companies, airlines, couriers) to emission factors, and returns a GHG-Protocol Scope 1, 2 and 3 report.
Which Tally report should I export?
The Day Book covering your reporting period is simplest: Display -> Day Book -> set the period -> Export -> Excel. A ledger-wise export or purchase register also works. Any sheet with a Particulars column and a Debit or Amount column is readable; the engine skips receipt rows automatically.
How are rupee amounts handled?
Tally exports carry no currency column, so the engine marks Tally-format files as INR explicitly and converts at a documented exchange rate. The report shows the original rupee amount, the rate used, and the converted value for every row - nothing is silently assumed. If your Tally books use a non-INR base currency, add a Currency column to the export and it takes precedence.
Which grid factor is used for Indian electricity?
The CEA CO2 Baseline Database v21.0 national weighted-average grid factor (FY 2024-25). CEA publishes one factor for India's unified grid and no state-level split, so we use the national factor for every state rather than inventing state precision - the report says exactly that. CEA publishes CO2 only, which the methodology discloses.
Is this enough for a customer ESG questionnaire or BRSR request?
For the carbon lines of most customer questionnaires, yes: you get a defensible Scope 1, 2 and 3 number with cited factors. If your customer asked for broader BRSR-style ESG data (workforce, water, waste, governance), pair it with our BRSR supplier profile, which reuses this carbon number.
